Dan Austin attributes much of his success to his wife, Deb.
Having always wanted to go into business for themselves, Dan and Deb began their journey with Thrivent Financial in 1987, on the day the stock market crashed that year. For Dan's first 16 years in the business, Deb was the licensed office manager. "A true partner in business," as Dan puts it, "we had a team before teams were even talked about."
When Dan first started in the financial services industry, he found that it was more than just selling an object, it was selling a feeling. Everyday, he strives to provide service that is above and beyond what the member expects. And this is how he has built his career-putting the members' needs first and foremost by doing everything he can.
After Deb was diagnosed with breast cancer and later a brain tumor, she decided to focus on getting in the face of cancer. Today, Dan and Deb work as a team to serve other cancer survivors. Whether heading up a committee for a cancer fundraising gala, or participating in and raising money for the Relay for Life, they are deeply involved and committed to the American Cancer Society,
Along with surviving breast cancer with his wife, Dan notes raising two successful children among his most meaningful personal accomplishments. Their son, Jordan, is married to Diana and they are the proud parents of Dan and Deb's grandson, Seth. Daughter, Lindsey, is married to Jason and they have the grand-dog, Sahara. Dan and Deb live in Windsor, Colo., and enjoy the benefits of their lake home set along the front range of the Rocky Mountains.
