When Dan Haglin was about to graduate from high school, he thought that he would stay home and continue to farm with his father, Wayne. His dad understood the importance of education and convinced Dan to go to college and decide if farming was the right path after school. As it turns out, tending to 300 sows no longer interested him. When Wayne recommended Dan try the financial services industry, he gave it a shot. After 25 years in the business, Dan joins his father in Thrivent Financial's Hall of Fame.
Over the years, Dan has overcome challenges in good times and hard times. And he measures success by the number of members who prefer working with him, and how many of those members achieved their goals with his help. In Dan's words, "How many promises have I helped keep?"
It's the commitment to his members that has helped Dan achieve Hall of Fame. It's also his "sixth sense"-a knack for reading body language and for understanding the meaning behind the spoken words. And it's his understanding that when he focuses on all his members' needs, which are more than financial, he finds his own needs are met even during the toughest times.
Dan and his wife, Brenda, are raising three children- Mary Beth, Jayne and Benjamin. Dan is involved with local and state politics and several industry organizations.
