Growing up, Don Neff always wanted to become a doctor. It was this ambition that led him into a successful career in microbiology. Within six years of completing his doctorate, Don was serving as the head of the microbiology laboratory at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Don also sought to serve others.
It was this desire that guided Don to an organization focused on volunteerism, and a career with Thrivent Financial.
Serving as a financial representative since 1983, Don has built his business by serving others. In these years, countless members have been recipients of Don's good will and good-natured personality. Whether it's raising funds for a struggling family, cleaning yards for the elderly or recruiting other to join his efforts, Don continually gives of himself for the betterment of his community.
Not only is Don active within his local community, he is also involved on a global scale. Don and his wife, Sue, a parish nurse, have traveled several times to Bethlehem, Israel, to support Christian Palestinians and provide medical aid to residents. It's easy to see how Don and Sue have combined their medical backgrounds with their Christian values to better the lives of the people they meet in their travels to Bethlehem.
Don and Sue reside in Lakeside, Calif., and have one grown daughter, Kelly, engaged to Steve Smith. When Don isn't serving Thrivent Financial's members or his community, he is often found working in the gardens surrounding his house.
