Thrivent Financial adds to donations
Individuals age 16 or older who are benefit members* of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, or who own Thrivent Mutual Funds accounts and/or Thrivent Life Insurance Company products are eligible to participate in the GivingPlus program. Thrivent Financial or one of the subsidiaries will add $1 for every $2 contributed to eligible and enrolled Lutheran organizations, based on the following guidelines:

* "Benefit members" generally are those who have been admitted into membership and own Thrivent Financial for Lutherans insurance or annuity products.

  • Individuals can donate to any eligible and enrolled organization they choose.
  • Individuals can donate to as many eligible and enrolled organizations as they choose, but Thrivent Financial and the subsidiaries will only provide supplemental dollars to two organizations per year.
  • Thrivent Financial or one of the subsidiaries will contribute $1 for every $2 donated up to a $300 maximum supplement to each organization.
  • Donations can be for any amount up to $600 (or more).
  • Individuals can make multiple donations (i.e. monthly, quarterly, etc.) to the same organization in a given year and have the supplemental dollars provided when the paperwork is received and processed, however the donations will only be supplemented up to the $300 maximum supplement.

A monetary gift of cash, check or money order will be supplemented by Thrivent Financial or one of the subsidiaries. Stock or mutual fund share transfers are also eligible.

Special bonus for volunteers

When an eligible individual contributes 25 or more hours of volunteer service to an organization that they have supported with an eligible GivingPlus® gift, Thrivent Financial or one of the subsidiaries will contribute an additional $25. Be sure to have the member indicate their volunteer service by filling in the appropriate bubble on the GivingPlus® Member Gift Form (PDF, 151K).

Volunteer service includes unpaid time working on projects/activities or serving on a governing/task group for the recipient organization. Hours spent on Thrivent chapter or congregational service team projects are not eligible for consideration.
