Join us for Cookies, Claus, & Community!

Sheridan Lutheran Church, 6955 Old Cheney Rd, Lincoln, NE 68516

Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach is hosting Cookies, Claus, & Community in partnership with Thrivent on Tuesday, December 2nd, at Sheridan Lutheran Church from 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Activities include visiting with Santa, decorating cookies, enjoying hot cocoa, and assembling care kits for individuals experiencing homelessness.

A freewill donation of $25 is suggested, but any amount is appreciated. On December 2nd, Thrivent will boost donations by matching $1 for every $2 raised. Plus, Thrivent is covering all online processing fees, so 100% of each gift will go directly to Matt Talbot.

*Donations made online to featured organizations through Thrivent’s giving platform and at in-person events on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, will be matched $1 for every $2 donated up to $20,000 per Thrivent Member Network. Thrivent will pay up to $300,000 in online processing fees per calendar year for personal donations made through Thrivent’s online giving platform.

Money Canvas offers a series of free one-on-one meetings with a financial coach to help you see where your money is going and build healthier financial habits.

Our coaching program is 100% free — no hidden agenda or sales pitch. Thrivent's unique not-for-profit business model allows us to invest back in our communities. We created Money Canvas with a simple goal of helping Americans get better at saving. Because you shouldn't have to spend money to get better at saving it.

Each session lasts about one hour and tackles a unique aspect of day-to-day finances. Coaching is available in English and Spanish.
