Domestic disaster recovery destinations

Palm trees blowing in the wind
Chipola Area Habitat
Hurricane Michael, a category 5 hurricane, struck the Chipola area in 2018 decimating the local housing stock, destroying homes, and leaving many uninhabitable. This tragedy, along with the housing shortage the area faced prior to the hurricane, made it challenging for them to recover.

Chipola Area Habitat for Humanity committed to building 20 new homes across Jackson and Washington counties through the end of 2024 to assist homeowners in their journey to resilience.

Join the movement to rebuild homes and hope in the Florida panhandle community as they focus their recovery efforts on affordable and fortified housing.
Habitat for Humanity Bowling Green/Warren County
A tornado screamed through the melting pot city of Bowling Green in Warren County, Kentucky on a quiet night in December of 2021. The results were dark and widespread and included billions of dollars in damages – with 500 homes, 100 businesses, and 17 lives lost.

The strength of the community has shown through the darkness, and Habitat for Humanity Bowling Green/Warren County has been working with these families to continue to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.

The work is not yet finished. Consider joining the team here in this scenic and diverse area of the southeast to rebuild dreams.
Habitat for Humanity Rogue Valley
The most destructive and expensive fire in Oregon’s history, known as the Almeda fire, scorched through Rogue Valley in September of 2020. The fire left behind a 13-mile-long burn scar which destroyed 2,600 homes, 200 businesses and left 10,000 people displaced.

Habitat for Humanity Rogue Valley has taken the lead in the county’s Long Term Recovery Group to rebuild their community and bring survivors back home.

Team up with the Rogue Valley Habitat for Humanity to restore homes and change the lives of the families who call the scenic mountain landscape of the Pacific northwest home.
